The Day Klaus Came Into the world

Well it started out early, really early! Well a lot earlier for Christy than Dan. At around oh 2 am or so both Dan and Christy were up. At about 3:30 am Christy was in the Hot Tub. At about 3:45 am Dan was not in the Hot Tub, but watching the Lunar Eclipse in the back year. Dan was checking on his wife, but more focused on the Eclipse. Dan's allergies started to kick in as well being the fall and all, and he didn't want to get into the Hot Tub. He wanted to watch the Eclipse, and it was getting close to being full when Christy had a enough of it and really needed to have her husband's attention. So, at the point Dan got into the Hot Tub to support his wife. There was a little tension in there until Stephanie our Doula showed up. At that point the Eclipse got put on the back burner until Stephanie brought it up not knowing we had a little tiff about it. So at about 5:30 am Christy gave in a little and we went and looked at the Eclipse over in the neighbor's yard. We hung around the house for about another 1 1/2 hours, and then we got Christy's parents up and we left for the hospital. We got all settled in at the hospital around 7:30 am and did the whole labor thing for awhile. Stephanie sure did make the process a lot more comfortable for Christy and easier for Dan. Around 8:30 am to 9:00 am back at the house Randy (Christy's father) go onto his motorcycle to go get is serviced. With Grandma and our two children in the van following Papa (Randy) on his motorcycle they pass over Shawnee Mission Parkway. At this point a 74 year old lady somehow didn't happen to see the stop sign at Lamar and 61st St, and pulled right out in front of Randy. At this point Randy couldn't miss her so he laid the bike over and T-boned the lady, and then crawled of the rode. The EMT asked him which hospital he wanted to goto, and since he was out of state and his daughter was delivering at Menorah, he made that suggestion. So, back at Menorah the labor crew was up on the 3rd floor and Randy was in the Emergency Room. Luckily we didn't find this out until after Klaus arrived. So, about the same time Klaus was coming into the world Randy was getting out of the hospital. At 11:30 am Klaus Liam Scharenberg was born and the talk of the hospital maternity area was on the size of the 11 lbs 5 oz boy that was born.
